BUILD YOUR OWN PROGRAM

When it comes to the people side of business, Tom knows what he's talking about. Yet even after in-depth interviews with your colleagues/workers/employees, he can't know exactly what specific issues the group needs to hear precisely on the day and hour of the meeting.

Since only the audience members know exactly what they want, why not let them design the program they want --on the spot?

How does a Build Your Own Program (BYOP) work?

Following an opening customized for your group, Tom presents and explains the following list of critical business issues to the group:

  • CHANGE: What's going on and why?
  • CONTROL: How can you get it and how can you keep it?
  • FAILURE: What would you be doing if you didn't believe you could fail?
  • SECURITY: Where is it and how did it get there?
  • SELF-ESTEEM: If you feel good about yourself how can change bother you?
  • ORGANIZATIONS: Why do they exist and can you live with that?
  • PURPOSE: Are you doing what you should do or what you want to do?
  • MISSION: Do you work each day because it's a workday or because it makes a difference?
  • RELATIONSHIP: If your end of the boat goes down, what happens to mine?
  • FUN: If you're not having any, why are you doing what you're doing?

As participants call out the issue they wish to hear, Tom covers the topic interactively with passion, visuals, humor and energy. The group moves on to the next chosen issues until Tom does the customized session wrap up.

Organizational benefits from Tom Payne's BYOP:

  • Audience hears/discusses what's most important to them at that moment.
  • Flexible program (20 minutes to 4 hours.) Long on time or short on time, this format will work for you.
  • Issues not covered in the session can be continued at a later date.
  • Maximum audience involvement.
  • Unlike any other speakers on your program.
